Better Surgical Results are in Your Hands™

Get your hands dirty and dig deeper into aesthetics, form, and function of human anatomy at this year’s pre-meeting workshop!

Join Dr. Peter Schmid, professional sculptor and aesthetic surgeon, as he presents his exclusive seminar, Sculpting for Surgeons, LLC™—a unique hands-on experience sculpting in clay, intensely studying the human form in order to analyze amorphisms and create balance and beauty. By connecting art with science, Dr. Schmid will explore the construction of the human body grounded in line, proportion, volume, and shape of human anatomy while working from a live female figurative model.

Didactic presentations and an interactive sculpting experience will provide perspectives that you will directly apply to patient analysis, cosmetic surgical planning, execution, and ongoing practices.

Highlights of this workshop include aesthetic structural anatomy, live professional model studies, comparative anatomy, functional anatomy as applied to form, lighting techniques, additive sculpting-in-clay techniques, and challenging one’s mind, hands, and eyes to reproduce the human form in clay elegantly, accurately, and harmoniously.

Reviews from Students of Sculpting for Surgeons™

Sculpting for Surgeons was a dynamic experience that opened my eyes to a new way of approaching the art of aesthetics. Dr. Schmid reignited in me a spark of creativity that I had long ago extinguished in my pursuit of medicine. This course should be a required part of the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery core curriculum.”

I want to congratulate you on the most unique, thoughtfully crafted, impactful, and just plain enjoyable workshop I have ever attended. Every stop along the way during the course, your lectures, those of the photographer and musician, the male/female morphology demonstration, the drawing exercises along with the sculpting itself were very carefully designed to enhance and stimulate our aesthetic eye adding the “frosting” on our skills as surgeons.
Dr. Richard Fisher

I feel so much more confident in the OR and feel like my hands know not only know what to do, but how to treat the body to “mold” it to something that is both aesthetic pleasing and very satisfying to the patient. Dr. Schmid said that I would feel different after the course, and needless to say…I do!!! Thank you again for changing my professional life.
Dr. Ted Y. Fisher

Participating in Sculpting for Surgeons has had a tremendous effect on my skills as a cosmetic surgeon. Working in clay helps me translate my artistic views into reality and this will have a positive effect on my ability to transform faces and bodies. Dr Schmid’s expertise and passion made this experience very special for me and the other participants.
